Leslie Spencer, Practice Manager
Leslie is Dr. Spencer's wife, and is an experienced veterinary technician. She left the veterinary field to pursue a career in nursing, and worked in an area hospital until the birth of their youngest child in 1999. At that time she came full circle and joined the practice as a manager, and all around gopher. In addition to taking care of the office responsibilities, Leslie works as receptionist, and as technician when needed.In her time off, Leslie enjoys quilting, spinning yarn, crochet and photography. She is also a dedicated horse show mom.
Cheryl Bennett, Receptionist
Cheryl was born and raised in Monticello. She has worked for the Jefferson County school system, and at the court house. She joined us in 2007. Cheryl has a grown daughter, Jeri, and shares her house with her Pekinese, Russell. Russell does not know he's a D-O-G, he is Jeri's younger brother. Cheryl enjoys spending time with her family and is an avid cross stitcher.
Nancy Baker, Receptionist
Nancy joined us in 2000. She lives with her husband Scott, their dogs, Duke, Vixie, and Sage, and 8 cats. After 10 years as our full time receptionist, Nancy felt called to become the manager of our local humane society. She still keeps her hand in as our Wednesday receptionist. When she is not here, or with her babies at the shelter, Nancy enjoys gardening, and traveling to see her sons, and her grandchildren.
Ellen Cline, Receptionist
Ellen has been our Saturday receptionist for several years. She lives with her husband, Mike, and her daughters Ashli, and Morgan.
They have 2 dogs, Sandspur, & Sable, 2 cats Harvey, & Smokey, and 4 horses; Velvet, Red, Diamond, & Tequila. Ellen works full time at Morgan's Garage, and is an active member of her church.
Diana Hayes, Veterinary Technician
Diana joined our practice in 1997 after moving from St.Petersburg . Diana is our full time vet tech, and is responsible for assisting Dr. Spencer, maintaining the treatment & surgery areas
, and overseeing our patients in hospital. Diana is also always willing to lend an extra hand at the front desk as needed. She shares her home with her partner Judy, her mother, Mary, and their 3 dogs, Maddie, Taz, and Little Bit, 5 cats, & Chipper the parakeet. When Diana is not working she enjoys gardening, and volunteers at the humane society.
Brenda Gailey, Kennel Technician
Brenda has been with us since 2009 as our head kennel technician, and is in charge of taking care of the animals, and maintaining a clean kennel environment. Brenda is very compassionate, and treats all of the animals in her care as if they were her babies. She lives in Cairo, Ga, with her husband Chad, stepdaughter Heather, and a menagerie of pets. Brenda also works at our local humane society.
